Instructor

Ryan Tennant is an experienced trainer and security professional with an extensive background in law enforcement, tactical operations, and adult education. During his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he served in multiple operational and instructional roles, including Lead Trainer for Close Quarters Battle (CQB) and Training Coordinator for Emergency Response Team operations. His experience includes developing standard operating procedures, building training standards, and delivering instruction in high-risk and high-performance environments.

Ryan has designed and delivered training programs focused on tactical decision-making, CQB, emergency response, leadership, and performance under stress. His instructional experience extends beyond domestic operations, including training and mentoring specialized units in Ukraine and Haiti, where he provided operationally focused instruction tailored to challenging and evolving threat environments. His work has included assisting elite teams with the development and refinement of CQB programs and tactics designed for real-world application.

His approach combines operational experience with structured adult-learning principles, emphasizing practical skills, adaptability, and training that can be directly applied in operational settings. He focuses on building capable professionals who can think critically, make sound decisions under pressure, and perform effectively in dynamic environments.

Ryan holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Windsor and maintains professional certifications including Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International and Certified Crisis Negotiator qualifications through National Tactical Officers Association. His instructional philosophy centers on developing competent, adaptable, and mission-focused professionals through realistic and purpose-driven training.
